You Said Yes to Jesus - What’s Next?

First, we want to say: this is the best decision you’ll ever make.
Following Jesus isn’t just a moment: it’s the beginning of a brand new life. You don’t have to have everything figured out. You just need to take your next step.
We’re here to walk with you.
Assurance of Salvation
When you put your faith in Jesus, your salvation is not based on your feelings - it’s based on His finished work.
There will be days you feel close to God and days you don’t. But your salvation is secure because of what Jesus has done, not what you do.

What God says about you now:
  • You are forgiven
  • You are made new
  • You belong to Him

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” - Romans 10:13
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” - Romans 8:1
“By grace you have been saved through faith... it is the gift of God.” - Ephesians 2:8–9

You can rest in this truth: If you have trusted Jesus, you are His.
Baptism
Baptism is your next step of obedience.

It’s a public declaration that your life has been changed by Jesus. It symbolizes the old life being buried and a new life being raised in Him.

Baptism doesn’t save you - but it is an important step of faith and obedience.

“Repent and be baptized… in the name of Jesus Christ.” — Acts 2:38
“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death… that we too might walk in newness of life.” — Romans 6:4

Gathering Together
You were never meant to follow Jesus alone.
God designed you to grow in community with other believers. Being part of a church helps you stay encouraged, grounded, and strengthened in your faith.

Why it matters:
  • You are encouraged by others
  • You grow through teaching and truth
  • You build relationships that strengthen your faith

“Let us not neglect meeting together… but encourage one another.” — Hebrews 10:24–25
“They devoted themselves to… fellowship.” — Acts 2:42

Make gathering a priority. Your faith grows stronger when you stay connected.
Share Your Faith
What God has done in your life is not meant to stay silent.
Sharing your faith doesn’t mean having all the answers - it simply means telling others what Jesus has done for you.
Your story has power.

“Go therefore and make disciples…” — Matthew 28:19
“Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.” — Psalm 107:2

Start simple:
  • Share your story
  • Invite someone to church
  • Talk about what God is doing in your life

You never know how God might use your obedience.
Study Your Bible
The Bible is how you learn who God is and how to follow Him.
It is your foundation for truth, guidance, and growth.

Where to start:
  • The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John (who Jesus is)
  • Romans (what salvation means)
  • Psalms (how to talk to God)
How to read:
  • Start small and stay consistent
  • Ask: What is God showing me?
  • Apply what you learn

“All Scripture is breathed out by God… that the man of God may be complete.” — 2 Timothy 3:16–17

God speaks through His Word—open it daily.
Prayer
Prayer is how you build a relationship with God.
It’s not about saying perfect words - it’s about being honest and spending time with Him.

What prayer can look like:
  • Thank God for what He’s done
  • Share what’s on your heart
  • Ask for help and guidance
  • Sit quietly and listen

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” — James 4:8
“Do not be anxious about anything… but in everything by prayer…” — Philippians 4:6

God is not distant. He invites you to come close.
Living on Mission
Following Jesus means living with purpose.
You are not just saved from something - you are saved for something.
God has called you to represent Him in your everyday life.

What this looks like:
  • Loving people well
  • Serving others
  • Living with integrity
  • Being a light wherever you go

“You are the light of the world.” — Matthew 5:14
“Whatever you do… do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus.” — Colossians 3:17

Your life now has eternal purpose.
