What is Clothe-A-Child?

Clothe-A-Child is a program created to help the less fortunate in our community enjoy the blessings many take for granted at Christmastime. Participant families are chosen In partnership with local school from all walks of life: low-income families trying to make ends meet, parents pursuing a college education, grandparents who have custody of their grandchildren - basically, any set of circumstances that create financial hardship for the family. Each December Clothe-A-Child volunteers pair up with participant families to shop at local department stores armed with big smiles and warm hearts.

Clothe-A-Child provides children and their families up to $125 per child to purchase clothing (maximum $375 per household). While the clothes are much-needed items for these families, knowing people care and are willing to help means so much more. Without this program, many would have no Christmas at all.

Not only giving clothes, but giving dignity.
Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy, but for many children it’s a time of sadness and dread. Those who don’t receive Christmas gifts return to school after the holidays feeling inadequate and unworthy. They’re surrounded by classmates describing new clothes and toys while they got nothing at all. Clothe-A-Child reaches out to these kids to show them they’re important and that people care, restoring smiles to their faces and putting joy in their hearts during the Christmas season.

"This is the first time I ever got new clothes."

- Rosse (Recipient - 10 years old)

"I would have had to choose between buying my kids shoes or clothes, I could have never afforded both, but thanks to these nice people they can have both."

- Stephanie (Single mom of 3)

"I was a single mom with five kids and so many people helped me when I needed it. This is the first time I have had the opportunity to give back, I may not be able to give financially, but to have this chance to volunteer has been such a blessing to me."

- Cherry (Volunteer)
